Sposored by Representative Geren. Would prohibit the blocking of registration of vehicles with unpaid red light camera tickets. This bill passed the house but was voted against in the Senate Transportation Committee. Testifying against the bill was the mayor (Suzanne DeLeon) and city manager (Amy Buckert) of Balcones Heights, Texas. Both of which complained primarily of the revenue they would be denied if the bill passes. Balcones hieghts has a lucrative red light camera program that operates without regard to Texas law.
